Crepe Ribbon Embroidery

Our thanks to Karen Sanders for this beautiful card! Karen used our crepe ribbons to embroider this floral bouquet of flowers onto her card stock.

We love how the crinkle-ness of the ribbon is so reflective and adds so much to the detail. Karen did support the back of the cardstock with a piece of thin chipboard to keep the holes from tearing while she stitched. The french knots are awesome!

Spellbinders Holiday Blog Hop - Day 2

The Spellbinders products I used were S4-287 Fanciful Holiday die template & S4-168 Large Labels. I originally found myself wanting to do a Christmas merry-go-round with this die, but that posed to be a major project, and I thought that maybe I needed to focus on something that anyone could find themselves making...

The Creative Impressions products used were the 1 3/4" Crepe Ribbon, Web Ribbon, Micro Round Paper Fasteners, Bright Round Bling & Felt Snowflakes. We love spraying the white web ribbon to accommodate our projects, but found that on both the A-2 cards, we liked how the 1 3/4" shimmer crepe ribbons became the right amount of color & lacey texture we were seeking. Our micro round paper fasteners are the perfect 1/16th-ish size for the small details of these dies, and our bling added the right amount of sparkle to the trees. These dies were great for adding the swirling magic of the holidays as borders and corners, and had a different look depending on how you tucked them around your papers, they also framed our felt & shimmer snowflakes perfectly on our matchbook-style gift card holder. The large labels were the right size for our gift tag, and we added our medium felt snowflakes between the layers to frame the reindeer.

"Poinsettia" with Fall Felt Leaves

Wow! We want to share & thank Jennifer Dove, at just4funcrafts, for the beautiful card she sent to Janet!

We are amazed at how she created this elegant Poinsettia Card with the Fall Felt Leaves Assortment, using just the burgundy maple leaves & olive green oak leaves. Using the micro mini round paper fasteners for the center, and as the swirl embellishment on the cork paper. The cork paper is a great material to stamp her greeting onto and also layer with. Finishing touches with the 1 3/4" Burgundy Crepe Ribbon, topped with our Olive with Olive Swirl Organdy ribbon.

Jennifer was our featured designer for "day one" of the Spellbinder blog hop today - be sure to check out her creative banner using the wonky square nestibilities S4-289 - you will be amazed at how many different ways she used just one die cut!

Pat's Fall Menu

Pat is our Inventory Control gal at Creative Impressions... She puts on beautiful events, complete with a program & menu. We just had to share this menu with you! Don't you just love her use of the Fall Felt Leaves, Fall Oak Leaf Paper Fasteners & Cork Paper. I thought her use of a store bought napkin ring, embellished with our Heritage Safety Pins & Fall Leaf Paper Fasteners & Place cards with the felt leaves were some of the finishing touches to her table setting! I am sure her guests enjoyed the event as much as we enjoyed seeing her projects!

Place Card Options

Thank you Pat for these beautiful place setting options!
1. Pat has taken CI 1" Cream Grosgrain ribbon (item on left) and wrapped it around a linen placemat, securing it underneath with adhesive velcro. She used our Fall felt leaves, leafy vine ribbons (brown & olive) & paper fasteners - wrapped & cascaded them around the grograin. There is a heritage frame secured to the grosgrain with brad, and it is used to put your guests name into it, as the place card.
2. Pat has taken your standard linen napkin and wrapped it with heavy cardstock to make a napkin ring. She again tied Fall felt leaves and leafy vine ribbons, along with our natural twine around the napkin ring, finishing it off with a tag. Write the name of your guest on the tag for another wonderful way to identify their place at your dinner table.

Happy Halloween !

Happy Halloween from the Creative Impressions Crew!

This is our little celebration tree that we like to change out with the seasons or holidays! They are so easy to change because all the decorations, ribbons etc are all tied onto the pom-pom cord... allowing you to just unwrap your tree and tie on some new ribbons & such!

How we do it...

1. Take two strands of pom-pom cord - about 2 1/2 yards each, and twist one end together. Wrap your tree as if you were putting lights onto it, giving a twist around a branch every-so-often to keep it in place. 2. Tie a piece of 5" ribbon around both strands of pom-pom cord every 8" (this secures the cording as one unified piece) 3. Using our little safety pins, we hung our felt Halloween pieces around the tree, securing them to the pom-pom cord only. 4. We took more coordinating ribbons in 5" pieces and tied them onto the cord, but only on one strand at a time. Don't be afraid to put a lot of ribbon on the tree... 5. Fluff your tree, separating the two strands to fill up the spaces. Now, when you want to change the theme (we will put samples each season) just unhook the pom-pom and redecorate. Enjoy!
